How the hell did these wheels become so damn popular?
they are probably the quickest means in which to tell some one that you are an absolute bag of dicks with no sense or originality. Also I once saw a 2005 Escape with 20” XD Rockstars(the wheel pictured above) that was funny.
OH GOD NO, THEY COME IN CHROME!
Oh and the CL post that lead me hear to vent.

I know, someone I know replaced their Denali’s nice looking stock 7-spoke wheels with these. So terrible.

Yeah, I’d agree. Bad but unique is slightly better than common bad.

I had them on my Titan back in 2005. In my defense, it was when they first came out. Had I known they were going to be such a bro wheel I probably would have passed.

I thought all the people with these wheels were hoping for the resurrection of the Soviet union.

It’s a very masculine design, and many dudes want to be sure you think they’re manly. Because what makes you a man is what people think of your car’s wheels.

Not even kidding, my florida ford dealer builds custom trucks to sell (they take new f150 and f250 and put lifts and wheels and leds...)
5 of them on the lot right now are sitting on those wheels. Oh and a few trucks (jeeps too) at my school “rock” them

2/5 bros. Lift isn’t redilulous. No LED light bar or push bumper.

oh thats just sad. These things aren’t even cheap either. I just checked tire rack and the 17” wheels are $191.00 each. Or you could get some classic looking American Racing Bajas for 60 bucks less.
Of coarse most of the XD wheels you see are larger than 17”s because country music artists are now starting to act like rappers. Damn you Florida Georgia a line.

Well I’m in the midwest, northern Wi, but I’ve seen them in Texas, and a quite a few Floridian Oppos have commented on there popularity.

Well in Texas a bro-rider(i like that one too) makes more sense than a Brodozer. I mean you never have to worry about snow, and at least in the parts of Texas I’ve seen there s miles and limes of nice smooth, high speed limit roads.

You understand the horribleness of country rap. How hard is it to do a traditional sound any more? So frustrating....

It look like it’s got a suspension lift. a body lift is when you just lift the cab, and bed off of the frame with blocks. It’s a cheap and easy way to get a Reeeaaally big lift, and fit even bigger wheels. but it looks like crap because you can see the frame, and it doesn’t actually create any extra ground clearance.

I thought you were correcting me, suggesting the truck didn’t have a lift at all.
My score still stands at 2/5 bros.

It’s not. In fact bro-country is slowly dying. The Turnpike Troubadours and Jason Isbell have both recently opened up with #1 albums on the country charts, and they are more traditional based.

I’ve listened to country pretty much my entire life and it just gets tiring when it’s becoming more Top 40 than the sound I was familiar with. Thankfully there are still a few singers are still continuing on with the more traditional sound.

They were popular where I lived in Alabama while I was in high school. Now the trend is spending 3 months pay on a set of American Force wheels which are worse in every imaginable way.

That’s amazing news! Thankfully the stations near me don’t play the overly terrible rap-like stuff. They still “throw back” to the mid-2000s and 1990s relatively often.
